English Thyme is a culinary evergreen shrub that is primarily grown for its foliage used for seasoning.  The thin woody stems sport the whorles of the aromatic leaves and tiny lilac white flowers bloom at the tips in late spring into summer.  Grows best in  full sun and loose soils with good drainage.  Drought tolerant

Thyme is believed to have an affinity for the respiratory system. It is said that drinking the tea, consuming the leaf in cooking and inhaling thyme steam help ward of ailments in the lungs. This aromatic herb is also regarded to aid digestion. *
