Aloe is a stemless succulent that grows in rosettes of toothed fleshy lace shaped green leaves well known for its edible gel used to treat burns and cuts.  Once the plant is matured it will put up a thick flowering stalk with coral pink flowers in spring.  Grows best in full sun and dry well-drained soils.  Syn with Aloe Barbadensis.

Aloe is very well known for its topical use for healing cuts, burns, and insect bites.  It can also be ingested for digestive health.  However, be aware the gel contains latex*
