Size

Firestar Dianthus is a compact mat-forming perennial with glaucous grey green foliage and hairy stems.  The fiery red flowers with a saturated crimson eye have a spicy clove fragrance and blooms heavily in early summer and may rebloom in fall if deadheaded.  Blooms best in full sun and slightly alkaline, moist, and well-drained soil.  Drought tolerant.
